From the Garden :: 2.4.2013

The last of our grapefruits were picked this week, and oh, their juice is to be savored. There were some lemons and a basket full of guavas that found their way into the kitchen as well.

We also brought in a bowl full of slightly over-ripe limes, and picked two more delicious heads of purple cauliflower - one for our kitchen, and one for our friend's.

 Kaffir lime leaves and cilantro went directly into the pot for that night's dinner of Tom Kha Gai soup. And, these carrots and beats were pulled from a box we were simply clearing out for some weekend seed planting.  Somehow, we didn't realize there were this many roots lying beneath the surface when we started the clean-up, but they made tasty snacks all weekend long.

We hope your week is off to a great start, and have a look over here to see other garden harvests from both near and far.

  3. The cauliflowers are gorgeous, but they are equally delicious! The citrus, we typically eat the grapefruit fresh, and the lemons/limes we use daily in salad dressings, fish marinade, etc. And, cocktails! Fresh fruit cocktails are delicious.
